Classic Nia is an hour long fitness class combining elements of dance, martial arts and healing movement therapies, that offers a cardio-vascular workout without the impact of zumba or aerobics. It’s practised barefoot but you can wear shoes it you need to. Each class begins with a focus and intent, stepping into warm up, get moving, cool down, floorplay and then a conscious step out. Key elements of Nia include using awareness of the body, mind, emotions and spirit and choosing to practice being with body sensations that feel good. If it’s been a while since you moved your body, there’s no need to worry. Nia meets you where you’re at and invites you to move in your own body’s way. 

The music is fabulous and the movements are simple. You’re welcome to come along anytime and give it a go. To learn more, give me a call on 0437 392 424. Nia classes are suitable for every ‘body’ and no experience is necessary. Class is located in a beautiful old hall close to Wrays & Pizza Hut a very short drive from Carindale, Carina, Morningside, Tingalpa, Hawthorne or Bulimba. Air-conditioned + off-street parking available.

For Nia feel free to wear any exercise or comfortable clothing that makes you feel good and free to move.  Bring along a water bottle and a towel or yoga mat.

Nia is designed to be practised barefoot.  If there are any physical reasons not to practise barefoot, soft sole shoes can be worn.
