The Nia White Belt Intensive is the first step on the Nia Training Path. Completion of the White Belt enables you to licence as a Nia teacher or to integrate Nia into your existing profession. Many participants choose the White Belt for personal growth reasons, with no intention to teach. They want to dance through life on a journey of self-discovery and the White Belt offers inspiring tools for living with joy, creativity and fulfullment.

7 days of moving consciously, of exploration and discovery will bring you back in touch with your vision of health, happiness and well being.

Nia began in the U.S in 1983 and is now a growing global community of practitioners in over 40 countries. Since the first training in Australia in 2005, Nia is increasingly being embraced by the Australian community. Nia’s holistic approach to health and well-being assures it a dynamic place in the fitness industry, and the personal growth and healing areas.

Payment Terms

The total cost of the Intensive is US$1599. A US$500 deposit is required upon registration with the final balance due within 30 days of the training or by payment plan. The cancellation policy can be viewed on the registration forms.

What if I'm not very fit and I haven't taken many classes?

Like any Nia class or event, the White Belt is about honouring 'your body's way'. There is no minimum standard of fitness or Nia experience and no age limit. Many come to the White Belt without ever having taken a class except on DVD.

Post Training

We want your enthusiasm, excitement, and fascination for learning Nia to continue. Real learning is an on-going lifetime process that continues outside the classroom. To genuinely embody wisdom and master a craft means to spread your wings, reread, re-examine, re-think, and integrate what you've learned. If you choose to licence as a Nia Professional, you will receive 4 Nia routines which will reinforce the intensive training. In addition, you may purchase the Nia Business & Marketing Manual that provide tools to create a successful Nia business..

The Nia DVD's, newsletter, Nia Australia Association and the international Nia community are here to support you. Mentoring is available via access to an international forum and monthly Teleconferences. Nia teachers also agree to maintain current CPR training.

What are the Nia Belt Levels?

Each Belt Intensive focuses on specific lessons and tools for personal and professional development.  Due to the depth of each level of curriculum, all Intensive Graduates are required to wait 12 months time between Intensive Trainings to fully embody and practice the education learned in the previous Belt level. The exception is Green which can be undertaken by a licenced Nia teacher at any time.

  • White Belt: Physical Sensation and Nia Foundations
  • Green Belt: The Science, Craft and Art of Teaching Nia
  • Blue Belt: Communication, Intimacy, and Relationship
  • Brown Belt: Energy Dynamics and Personal Power
  • Black Belt: Personal Mastery and Creativity
  • Nia Trainer: Certified Nia Trainers have spent years studying, practicing, teaching and living the principles and work of Nia, both personally and professionally. To be considered for Nia Trainer, status a Teacher must meet specific requirements along the way from White Belt through First Degree Black Belt.
