TRACEY TIGHE
Certified Blue Belt Nia InstructorNoel Boycott - Nia Instructor

In Nia I have found a grounded and soulful way to nurture my body, reconnect to my heart, and explore and express the essence that is me.

I have always loved to move my body to music. Much of my youth was spent immersed in the world of song and dance, a gift I am only now fully appreciating. Somewhere along life’s road however, I stopped giving myself this gift. That is until a dear friend introduced me to Nia. How exciting it was to be on the other side of forty and to tap back into the joy of movement again.

Nia makes my heart sing and my body and soul dance. It taps me into the present moment, into a quieter, calmer more grounded place. It is a dynamic workout that energises and uplifts me, giving me opportunities for pleasure, playfulness and greater self-awareness. It encourages my body to grow in strength, flexibility, endurance and vibrant health.

Nia shows me the way to dance through life. There is no other fusion fitness practice like it. It is my movement medicine. I feel very fortunate to be able to teach Nia and I warmly invite you to move your body’s way towards health and well-being, regardless of your age or fitness level. I look forward to sharing Nia and the Joy of movement with you soon.

Testimonials

"Nia is for me a chance to enjoy exercise - what a concept! It is the one thing in my life at the moment that I enjoy 100% and it is something I do just for me. I love it and I thank you Tracey, I think you are a great teacher." Linda, W.

"Thank you Tracey for putting so much into your Nia classes. You are indeed inspiring, not just for dancing but for many other aspects of life. I have had some very special moments doing the Nia classes. I loooove the music you pick and get a fantastic workout as well as amazing meditation experiences in the relaxation afterwards. In general, I feel much lighter and more joyful and have a greater appreciation for my body and its ability to move. I am always excited on a Nia Day." Simone, R.

"Your Nia class is a great way to get some “me time” and at the same time get some gentle exercise in an environment where you can feel totally comfortable. Your classes are always enjoyable Tracey and I always look forward to them, (which is not usually how I feel about exercise!)." Julie, B.

"I first started Nia at the tender age of 59 with all sorts of health problems- mainly asthma and osteoarthritis -making it very difficult to do some forms of exercise. I must admit I was also a bit lazy and unmotivated. Tracey brought me gently through the Nia dance experience until I had lost complete sense of time.....to become fully integrated emotionally and physically .....with the freedom to express what was lingering in my heart and soul. I practice tai chi which carries with it it's own benefits of form, balance and breathing - but this dance adds another dimension of freedom. Following my teacher's gentle voice guidance I released more inner tension, worries and fears and even managed to keep moving a whole hour....without any undue pressure on my joints. I finally feel I have found a way to express through music and movement all that I am. It's not about the steps even though we use them as a guide. It's not about about the music even though it inspires. It's so much more than that. It's about the completeness and the unfolding moment to moment, while trusting another gentle soul. Thank you so much Tracey". Nicole, B.
