Sabine Withers
Moving and dancing to music has always been part of my life and given me enormous joy. My professional career took me onto a different path and to other places.
A few years ago while living in the Middle East with my family, on my search for fun and fitness, I found myself stepping into a different kind of class. The instructor invited us to express ourselves in our own unique way and to feel the sensation of joy, all of this to groovie moves and uplifting music. It was then that I rediscovered my passion for dance.
It appeals to me that Nia is not teaching a particular style or genre but draws inspiration from different dance forms, martial arts and healing arts and blends them all into an energising session. Putting the emphasis on moving in my own body’s way and being able to express myself feels good to me.
Dancing the Nia way becomes a joyful time which truly anchors us in the present moment, creating an inner body awareness and connecting us to the life force energy. We feel stronger, more balanced and flexible,- physically, mentally and emotionally.
For me Nia opens the possibility for meditation in motion as it connects me to my inner essence.
I look forward to sharing the Nia experience with all on their journey to well-being.
