Noël is a Blue - Green Belt trained Nia teacher. She has a background in mental health and healing as well as a life long love of dancing. In her experience, Nia combines the joy of moving to music with a sense of community and fun. She can think of no better way to keep fit and healthy.
"A friend told me about this movement technique called Nia which was as fulfilling as yoga, aerobic, not boring and with great music. My first class was exhilarating and exhausting. I was reminded of how much I love to dance and have enjoyed every class since!”
She moved from Sydney to the beautiful NSW South Coast where she holds regular classes and workshops in the community and at health retreats.

Student feedback
"At my first Nia class, I was unsure how I would go but by the end I felt good. I felt at ease learning new movements with no pressure of being 'watched'. I could go at my own pace and extend myself if I wanted to. I find Nia keeps my mind on my own body and movement, allowing me to step away from everyday routines, work etc. The variety of music and movements keeps my brain active - let alone my body! After many years of non exercise, always making excuses that I don't have time, Nia is a commitment that I enjoy. I always feel revitalised after a Nia class. I am glad I'm a Nia student among a group of wonderful women." Louise (Milton, NSW)
"I can't believe how I've fallen in love with Nia - it fulfills everything for me - it's fun, it's physical, it gently exercises your brain, it's empowering, it reduces self consciousness which in turn gives confidence. No matter how I feel when I arrive at Nia, I always leave feeling great! The stress and rush of everyday living dissolves. My body feels great, my energy levels are even more elevated and my brain feels centered and ready for the rest of the day. Quite simply Nia is a joyous experience which has far reaching benefits that touch my everyday life....my awareness feels expanded and I even listen to music in a different way!! In fact, I now feel the need to move whenever I hear music that I love.
Long live Nia and thank you for bringing it to our community." Lucy (Milton, NSW)
"I heard about Nia from a friend. Apprehensive and not knowing what to expect, I was a little nervous. However, from the first minute Noël introduced the class, I felt at ease. As someone who has struggled with chronic anxiety from a very young age, I am now proud to say that through Nia I have found the most effective way to combat stress and anxiety. The thing I enjoy at Nia is having fun, making friends and loving it. I look forward to this fun energising hour of dance with a wonderful instructor who is encouraging, full of wisdom and joy. It's a fun mind and body experience and helps leave stresses behind." Sandy, Sydney
"Nia ties together a lot of elements from body awareness, breath, relaxation and meditation techniques in a very accessible way. I love it because it is a lot of fun. Great music, simple moves that bring out the dancer because there is no sense of pressure to ‘get it right’. I arrive tensed up and tired from work, and after Noël's class, I have my energy back! It connects me to my body every time and I leave feeling lighter in heart and freer in spirit." Barbara, Sydney
