Julie is a trained Nia teacher and comes from a dance and healing arts background. She has a Diploma in Shiatsu and Aromatherapy, a Dip Ed (Prim) and has completed the Journey Practitioner Program.
My passion sustains my teaching - I am interested in discovering the key that self motivates us to return to classes that enhance our vitality and well being. I know that Nia feeds my life force and offers tools for the best life my body can offer. And sometimes as a student of Nia I experience uncomfortable sensations where I feel out of my comfort zone, yet the joy that is present and palpable carries me through. I can then step out into life where this supportive, loving energy sustains me for when the going gets tough and the opportunity for self healing.

"Change Your Body, Change Your Life!"
I went to Nia class in a bad mood and left feeling good. Edie 14years Mullumbimby
I get into information overload... I just want to move my body to feel good, look good and age with grace. Nia does that for me.
Lucy. Sth Golden Beach
I love the free dance in Nia because it allows me to explore my Body's full range of movement in natural and wonderful ways. This brings me Joy.
Ruby 19 years. Brunswick Heads
I f eel like my body has woken from a deep sleep. There are many areas that have been dormant for a while and I feel a slow and exquisite awakening! I saw my chiro after my second Nia class and for the first time in years he didn't have to adjust my neck or re-align my hips! Nia is truly healing!
Julie - Goldcoast
What Nia has done for me is bring me back into my body in a playful, creative, safe and coordinated way. After every class I feel transformed on all levels. I love the community of dancers that Nia attracts.
Turiya, Ocean Shores
I love to do free dance and also enjoy the discipline of learning forms. Nia draws on many movement traditions which expands the way my body responds, this informs my free dance. Learning dance patterns reprogram the neural pathways, which I know is a great way to keep my brain fit and free from dementia. Thanks, Julie for another beautiful, multi-faceted class.
Laura Shore, Ocean Shores
I've done many many forms of exercise ranging from aerobics to iyengar yoga but having had just a sample of NIA, I can see that it 'takes the cake' --- in fact it's the cherry on top! For me it is delightful to move to funky music, dance, be creative, tone and strengthen and above all, it is fun.
Annette Janover, Byron Bay
"Nia has been a liberating, relaxing and self healing experience that I intend to incorporate into my life. The benefits I have felt are numerous including: easing pressure on my lower back caused by scoliosis, curvature of the spine. Julie provides an atmosphere where you are free of inhibitions and open to connect with your body, mind and spirit. I get fit and have fun as well!".
Kristin, Mullumbimby
The Nia dance classes with Julie are what I've been looking for: a chance to experience the joy and aliveness in my body, re-awaken forgotten bits of myself and make new discoveries, as well as get fit. After a class I feel good for the rest of the day. It's easy and enjoyable to move in this way.
